The diagnostics company Gradientech AB (publ) today announces that they have filed a patent application with the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV). The patent application concerns the use of machine learning-based methods to be able to detect antibiotic resistance in patient samples at an early stage. Rapid detection and monitoring of resistance is of great importance as multidrug-resistant bacteria and specific multi-resistance genes can quickly spread in society and in healthcare.

Patentansökan gäller användning av maskinlärningsbaserade metoder för att tidigt kunna detektera antibiotikaresistens i patientprover. Snabb detektion och övervakning av resistens är av stor betydelse eftersom multiresistenta bakterier och specifika multiresistensgener snabbt kan spridas i samhället och inom vården.

FDA kan tilldela medicintekniska produkter denna status där produkten anses kunna ge mer effektiv behandling än godkända alternativ på amerikanska marknaden, och där det ligger i patientens intresse att påskynda processen att nå ett marknadsgodkännande.
The diagnostics company Gradientech today announces that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has granted Breakthrough Device Designation for the QuickMIC® system for ultra-rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST). The Breakthrough Device Program is reserved for certain medical devices that provide more effective treatment or diagnosis than approved or cleared alternatives, and where the device availability is in the best interest of patients.
Gradientech AB (publ) (“Gradientech” or “the Company”) announces that the Company’s issue of convertible instruments with deviation from the pre-emption rights for existing shareholders has been completed. The final count in the issue shows that 815,823 convertible instruments were subscribed for. Through the issue, Gradientech will receive approximately SEK 16.7 million before deductions for transaction costs.
