Field Application Specialist

In this role, you’ll primarily support customers within Germany and the DACH-region, while also engaging with laboratories and distributors in nearby markets. As a Field Application Specialist, you will ensure that Gradientech’s diagnostic QuickMIC® system is successfully implemented, adopted, and used optimally by our clinical laboratory customers. You act as the primary contact for all application- and support-related questions. You are a bridge between our forefront technology and the hospital laboratories’ daily clinical workflow, providing technical expertise, training, and scientific and application support.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and provide expert guidance to our valued customers and authorised sites in Germany, but also in other nearby markets, assisting them with effective implementation and evaluation of the advanced QuickMIC system.
- Train lab personnel on QuickMIC instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as provide hands-on training for test kits, workflow, and data interpretation. Training will be performed both in person at hospital labs and distributors’ sites, as well as through engaging online sessions and webinars.
- Provide on-site or remote technical and application support to resolve possible issues, with troubleshooting backed by Gradientech’s service engineers and development team.
- Document all technical inquiries in Gradientech’s Jira and Salesforce systems.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure smooth operation and user satisfaction.
- Monitor QuickMIC system performance and usage at customer sites.
- Collect and communicate user feedback to our product management and development teams.
- Assist the sales team at scientific meetings, conferences, and trade shows, presenting the QuickMIC technology and the system’s capabilities.
- Give input and collaborate with the marketing team to create and maintain high-quality marketing material and clear technical documentation to ensure effective knowledge transfer for various scientific presentations and competitor positioning.
About you
We’re seeking a professional with the following key skills and background:
- Degree in microbiology, clinical chemistry, biomedical science, or a related field, a PhD degree is preferred.
- At least 2-5 years of working experience from clinical diagnostic labs or industry field application support roles.
- Excellent communication and training abilities.
- Customer-oriented and comfortable working independently in the field, customer support experience is highly valued.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into clinical relevance.
- Ability to engage knowledgeably and confidentially with key decision-makers, lab directors, professors, CEOs, and lab technicians.
- Driver’s license required.
- Fluent in German (C1) and English.
